Introduction

We are pleased to announce the 1st BRAZILIAN CONFERENCE ON NATURAL PRODUCTS (1st BCNP) and the XXVII Annual Meeting on Micromolecular Evolution, Systematics ans Ecology (RESEM) to be held at the Hotel Fazenda Fonte Colina Verde, located in the tourist area of São Pedro in the State of São Paulo - Brazil, November 04-07, 2007.
The event is supported by the Natural Products Division (D-NP) of the Brazilian Chemical Society (SBQ).

The 1st BCNP is a non-profit International Congress dedicated to promote plants, and other natural source constituents in respect of their chemistry, function, biosynthesis, and effects on the physiology and pathology of living organisms, as well as the application of such knowledge in agriculture and pharmaceutical industry.

We have invited renowned national and international scientists and experts, with the aim to promote the development of science, biotechnology and education, and contribute to the excellence of Natural Products in Brazil. The scientific program of the 1st BCNP will focus on:

- Biodiversity and Natural Products
- Biological and Pharmacological Activity of Natural Products
- Manufacturing and Quality Control of Herbal Drugs and Essential Oils
- Biosynthesis and Molecular Biology of Natural Products
- Recent Advances in the Isolation and Structure Elucidation of Secondary Metabolites

The Organizing Committee is dedicated to make this meeting a fruitful and memorable event. We sincerely look forward to welcome you to this event.
