First Circular

    On behalf  of  the  Organizing  Committee  I
have  the  pleasure  to  invite  you  to  the  10th
International Conference  on  Chemometrics in
Analytical Chemistry CAC-2006, to be held in
September  2006  in Campinas,  Brazil exactly
at the tropic of Capricorn.  This is the first time
that   CAC   will   be   held   in   the   Southern
Hemisphere.
Since  the  first  meeting  in  Amsterdam,  more
than  25  years  ago,  CAC  has  been  a  great
opportunity   to  share   experiences,  exchange
knowledge and  widen horizons. We  hope this
meeting   will  also  bring  to  all,   positive  and
fruitful   collaboration   between  chemometrici-
ans, chemists, engineers and bioscientists.

We look forward welcoming you  in  BRAZIL
and  sharing  a  stimulating  meeting  and  hope
that you  all   take  this  unique  opportunity  to
know  better  this  large   and  diverse  country
with amiable people  (180 million)  and  where
nature chose  to  show   up  one  of   its  most
peculiar and wondrous manifestations.

ABSTRACT SUBMISSION

      Conference proceedings  will  be  published as a
special volume of Elsevier's  Analytica Chimica Acta
(only  papers  submitted during  the Conference  that 
meet ACA refereeing process will  be included in the
special volume).
 

OFFICIAL LANGUAGE

The official language  is  English.   There  will be no 
translation facilities.

REGISTRATION FEES

The   registration   fees   for   the  Conference
which  pays  for   book  of   abstracts,  coffee
breaks      and      lunch     Monday-Thursday,
welcome  reception  and  banquet  will  be:

Student          USD 250             USD 300

      For  students,   a  number  of   grants  are
available.  Grants cover  registration  fees, but
do   not   include  traveling   costs  or  lodging
expenses.
To   qualify     for    a   grant,    the   following
conditions  must  be  fulfilled:

"The  applicant  must  be  a  graduate student
in  any  area   related   to   the   topic  of   the
Conference.

"The letter  of  application should reach  us at
the address below before  APRIL 30,  2006,
and    be   accompanied    by    the  following
documents:

     ^*A  cv,  a  short  description  of  present
activities,  and a list of publications.
     ^*A  proof   of   students  status  from  the
applicant's institution.
     ^*An   abstract   for   a   poster   or   oral
presentation;  acceptance  of  the abstract  by
the organizers is a sine qua non condition for
the grant.

The   final  decision   will   be  announced   to
individual  applicants  by  the middle  of  June
2006.

SOCIAL PROGRAM & EXCURSIONS

   The social program  will  include  a  welcome
reception,  conference  excursion and  banquet.
Optional pre/post-conference tours information
will be available.

VISA  -  Participants from countries that need
an  entry  visa  for  Brazil   should  contact  the
Brazilian   diplomatic   representation   in  their
own country as soon as possible.
