3rd European Conference on
Mathematics Applied to Biology and Medicine
October 6. - 10. , 1996: Heidelberg, Germany,
http://www.iwr.uni-heidelberg.de/ECMBM96/
(First Announcement)
We announce the 3rd Conference on Mathematics Applied to Biology and
Medicine which is sponsored by the European Society of Mathematical and
Theoretical Biology (ESMTB). After the success of the meetings in l'Alpe
d'Huez 1991 and Lyon 1993 the society wants to continue the fruitful exchange
between scientists doing research in Mathematics, Biology and Medicine.
The main aim of the ESMTB is to stimulate scientific research and education
in the challenging fields of Mathematical and Theoretical Biology. The
conference will be the major communication event and scientific platform
where results and reviews can be presented. The scope of the conference
and the main fields are indicated by the list of sections; presentations
on newly emerging subjects will be equally welcome. The conference will
be a forum especially for young scientists. The participation of young
scientists is strongly encouraged.

given.
Deadlines for Abstracts
If you like to present your work at the conference, please send a preliminary
extended abstract (written in TEX) of one page including a (very short)
list of references before
March 31st, 1996 to us by e-mail. We would
appreciate very much if you use the appended abstract
form. The abstracts will be refereed. We will inform you about acceptance
and whether a short communication (20 minutes, including discussion) or
a poster is suggested. The deadline for the final abstract is June 30th,
1996. The book of abstracts will be available at the beginning of the
conference.
We are planning an edition of selected contributions to the conference.
Details about these proceedings will be given as soon as they are known.
Conference Fee
The conference fee will be:
Students: 80,- DM
Members of the ESMTB: 150,- DM
Non-members: 180,- DM
You can become a member of the European Society for Mathematical and Theoretical
Biology (ESMTB) during the conference. Then the fee of 180,- DM will include
30,- DM membership fee for 1997. For that you only need a recommendation
by an ESMTB-member. You will find a prepared form in your conference bag.
The conference fee does not include the price of the conference proceedings.
