Scope
Analytical chemistry has two sections: the "A-pages" and a research section. The A-pages are composed of features of interest to the analytical chemistry community, News, Research Profiles, Product Reviews, and various departments. Such articles are intended to broaden readers' professional interests and keep them aware of the role of analytical chemistry in the scientific arena and in society in general. The research section contains Perspectives and current research articles. Perspectives point out the author(s)' vision of the character and importance of a new direction in analytical chemistry, analyze research reports that provide the foundation for the new direction, and discuss the nature of the opportunities perceived. Research articles are devoted to the dissemination of new and original knowledge in all branches of analytical chemistry, and they may be entirely theoretical or may report experimental resutls that bear on theory.

Scope
Analytica Chimica Acta provides a forum for the rapid publication of original research, and critical reviews dealing with all aspects of fundamental and applied modern analytical science. The journal welcomes the submission of research papers which report studies concerning the development of new and significant analytical methodologies. In determining the suitability of submitted articles for publication, particular scrutiny will be placed on the degree of novelty and significance of the research and the extent to which it adds to existing knowledge in analytical chemistry. Manuscripts detailing fundamental research on all aspects of analytical theory and methodology (including chemometric
techniques), such as innovative instrumental, chemical and biological approaches, detectors and sensors, sample treatment methods and data treatment are especially encouraged. On the other hand, papers describing the use of routine analytical methods or straightforward extension of these methods to new sample matrices will normally not be published unless new developments are described which can be demonstrated to give very clear and quantifiable advantages over existing methods. In all submissions to the journal, authors must address the question of how their
proposed methodology compares with previously reported methods. It will normally be expected that where new analytical methodologies and developments are described these will be applied to a sample matrix of suitable analytical complexity. In such cases appropriate validation of the method should be provided, together with proper statistical treatment of data. Analytical performance characteristics of new methods should be given, including sensitivity, detection limits, accuracy, precision, and interferences.

The chemical and biochemical composition of foods is fundamental to the study of their properties and processing applications. Food Chemistry publishes original peer-reviewed research papers dealing with a wide range of subjects which are essential to the food scientist
and technologist. Topics include:
- the chemical analysis of food;
- chemical additives and toxins;
- chemistry relating to the microbiological, sensory, nutritional and physiological aspects of food;
- structural changes in molecules during the processing and storage of foods;
- direct effects on foods of the use of agrochemicals;
- chemical quality in food engineering and technology.
Additionally the journal features the Analytical, Nutritional and Clinical Methods Section covering the measurement of micronutrients, macronutrients, additives and contaminants in foodstuffs and biological samples. Papers should be concerned with methods, their development and evaluation, results of collaborative studies, novel techniques (ELISAs, etc.), automated or on-line procedures for process control, methods for food adulterants, aspects of quality assurance including the preparation and characterization of reference materials, and relevant review articles. Methods concerned with the assessment of nutrient bioavailability from the diet and nutritional status will also be considered. Papers should focus on the development of new, or modification of existing analytical procedures and include sufficient data from real samples to validate the method.

Scope
A journal devoted to Theory and Computation in Chemistry, Physics, and Molecular Biology. The International Journal of Quantum Chemistry was founded by Per-Olov Löwdin to provide a venue dedicated to research in this multidisciplinary field. Quantum Chemistry is a discipline concerned with the quantum mechanical description of the structure and dynamics of atoms, molecules, and condensed matter. Quantum Chemistry embodies theoretical studies and computer simulations of atomic and molecular systems and their interactions. The Quantum Chemists have contributed to the progress of new theoretical fields in chemical physics, chemistry, and the material sciences and have in turn been energized by these disciplines. Recent developments in molecular biology also call for new applications where quantum mechanical components interface with molecular mechanics and phenomenological modeling. This interdisciplinary character of research in Quantum Chemistry places it at the intersection of the well-established sciences of physics, chemistry, and biology. In addition to its mandate to accept original papers with emphasis on basic theory and the application of computational quantum mechanics to atoms, molecules and condensed matter, the Journal wishes to take an active role in promoting interaction between the quantum and statistical mechanical sub-disciplines of chemical physics. Due consideration will be given to reports of investigations that apply quantum based programs to fundamental research and the interpretation of experimental data in the fields of thermodynamics and chemical kinetics.
The Journal accepts original papers with emphasis on formal and computational quantum mechanics and its application to the theory and modeling of the structure and dynamics of atoms, molecules, and condensed matter. The Journal presently publishes 30 issues each year forming five volumes. It regularly publishes the proceedings of the annual Sanibel Symposia, and also proceedings of several other international symposia, such as congresses of the International Academy of Quantum Molecular Science, the International Society of Theoretical Chemical Physics, and the Working Party on Computational Chemistry of the Federation of European Chemical Societies.

Authors who submit manuscripts to the Journal of Chemical Education should address JCE's audience and  its goals. The ACS Division of Chemical Education, Inc., publishes JCE as a means of communication among people who are interested in teaching chemistry. This includes  teachers of chemistry from middle school through graduate school, as well as some scientists in industry and government.
W. T. Lippincott, a former editor, stated the Journal's aims well: "to provide chemistry teachers with information, ideas, and materials for improving and updating their background and their understanding of the science, and for helping them in their teaching and in their effectiveness in developing the talents of students. The qualities of meat – its composition, nutritional value, wholesomeness and consumer acceptability– are largely determined by the events and conditions encountered by the embryo, the live animal and the postmortem musculature. The control of these qualities, and their further enhancement, are thus dependent on a fuller understanding of the commodity at all stages of its existence – from the initial conception, growth and development of the organism to the time of slaughter and to the ultimate processing, preparation, distribution, cooking and consumption of its meat.
It is the purpose ofMeat Science to provide an appropriate medium for the dissemination of interdisciplinary and international knowledge on all the factors which influence the properties of meat. Although the journal is predominantly concerned with the flesh of mammals, contributions on poultry meat are also published, especially when these have relevance to our overall understanding of the relationship between the nature of muscle and the quality of the meat which muscles become post mortem.

Scope
This is the only international journal offering an interdisciplinary forum for contributions on molecular modelling, computer graphics and other computer-assisted methods helpful in the design and development of biologically active compounds as applied to medicinal, agricultural and environmental chemistry.
The journal provides an extensive abstracting service that is unique to the field: 100-150 abstracts per issue. Original articles from leading experts are complemented by short communications, review articles and perspectives.

Spectrochimica Acta Part B: Atomic Spectroscopy, is intended for the rapid publication of both original work and reviews in the following fields: atomic emission (AES), atomic absorption (AAS) and atomic fluorescence (AFS) spectrometry; mass spectrometry (MS) for inorganic analysis covering spark source (SS-MS), inductively coupled plasma (ICP-MS), glow discharge (GD-MS), and secondary ion mass spectrometry (SIMS) and MS of sputtered neutral atoms (SN-MS); laser induced spectrometry for inorganic analysis including laser enhanced ionization (LEIS), laser induced atomic fluorescence (LIF), resonance ionization spectrometry (RIS) and resonance ionization mass spectrometry (RIMS); X-ray spectrometry including X-ray fluorescence spectrometry (XRF) and related techniques, in particular total-reflection X-ray fluorescence spectrometry (TXRF), and synchrotron radiation- excited X-ray spectrometry (SYNFXRF). Manuscripts dealing with (i) fundamentals, (ii) methodology development, (iii) instrumentation, and (iv) applications can be submitted for publication. The emphasis is on papers having a relationship with "spectrochemical analysis". The main subjects will include theoretical or experimental studies of the physical and chemical processes connected with the generation of atomic or mass spectra; the determination of atomic data; diagnostics for spectrochemical sources; the fundamentals, design or performance of complete instrumental systems, components of instruments, or devices used in any of the above stated fields of spectrometry; qualitative and quantitative analysis in the sense of complete analytical procedures using a single method or a combination of methods, or parts of complete procedures: sampling, sample preparation, sample introduction, detection, data acquisition and handling (including calibration and statistical evaluation); analytical performance and analytical figures of merit: limits of detection and limits of determination, selectivity, precision, accuracy, interferences.

Talanta, published monthly, provides a forum for the publication of original research papers, preliminary communications, annotations and reviews in all branches of pure and applied analytical chemistry. Original research papers on fundamental studies and novel instrumentation development are especially encouraged. The latter include physical, inorganic and organic chemistry measurement instrumentations that are unique, and chemical sensors. New electronic developments are welcome. Novel applications in areas such as clinical chemistry, environmental analysis, geochemistry and materials science and engineering, etc. are welcome. Since classical spectrophotometric measurements and applications, solvent extraction, titrimetry, etc. are well established, studies in such areas should demonstrate a unique and substantial advantage over presently known systems. Solvent extraction methods in particular, but others as well, should focus on the use of non-hazardous material substitutes and the minimization of waste generation. Studies with new reagents or systems should be as comprehensive as possible, rather than a series of similar papers for several elements or compounds. Contributions will be expected to be of the high standard set and maintained by Talanta and to make a definite and useful contribution to analytical chemistry.
